The Formula 3 Asian Series Championship completed its 2020 winter campaign in thrilling fashion during its final racing weekend in Buriram, Thailand. After a highly competitive five-weekend season throughout Asia and the Middle East, BlackArts Racing’s Joey Alders of The Netherlands was crowned the 2020 F3 Asian Champion, following a dramatic season finale at the 4.5km Buriram International Circuit. The 20-year-old clinched the crown in the penultimate race of the season, after title rival Jack Doohan of Pinnacle Motorsport retired while leading from pole for the second time during the weekend. The 17-year-old Red Bull Junior driver Doohan finished runner-up in the final standings, with Hitech Grand Prix’s Nikita Mazepin placing third.
The conclusion of the F3 Asia series brings an end to Giti’s first racing action in 2020. The Formula 3 Asian Championship action features all vehicles showcasing Giti branding and GitiCompete GTR1 tires, which have been lauded for their ability to propel the drivers to strong results, despite challenging racing conditions. The F3 Asia series encourages development of top young talent from all around the world, as Giti focuses on “Powering Up Tomorrow’s Racing Leaders” to take on Formula 2 and even F1 action in their future. Highlights of the season also included the first time for Giti to race in the Middle East, with competitions in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, as well as a return to major circuits in Thailand and Malaysia.

This includes the return of Giti’s groundbreaking ‘Girls Only’ team to the VLN Endurance Racing Series and world-famous 24 Hours Nürburgring race in Germany, as well as the UK Fun Cup series and the Formula DRIFT series in North America. Additional racing action will also take place during the year, providing an exciting calendar of events for racing enthusiasts and families.
