Four global R&D centres and more than 800 engineering personnel
As well as its five manufacturing plants, Giti Tire operates four research and development (R&D) centres strategically located around the world. The largest proving ground in Southeast Asia, located in Karawang, Indonesia, is owned by Giti Tire.
Currently Giti is the official tyre partner of a VW ID. Buzz attempting a new Guinness World Record for “Most Number of Countries Visited by an EV”. The ID. Buzz is heading to 80 countries – and has already dashed across Australia – with German world-record-holding driver, Rainer Zietlow. It’s doing it all on the one Giti tyre pattern, Giti SynergyH2, a German-engineered tyre with a top-tier AA EU Rating, designed for EVs and hybrids.
Giti tyres are engineered to global standards, including the International Organisation for Standardisation, or ISO.
Motorsport successes from Pikes Peak to the Nürburgring 24 Hour
There’s no more convincing marketing than your product surviving some of the toughest real-world challenges imaginable – from Pikes Peak to open-wheelers, GT3 endurance events at the Nürburgring and even truck racing.
In 2013, Giti Tire worked with Nobuhiro 'Monster' Tajima to specially engineer the GitiCompete GTR1 tyre for Tajima’s E-Runner Pikes Peak Special, to take on that year’s Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. It was the first electric Pikes Peak vehicle to break the course’s 10-minute mark.
In 2017, Giti Tire made its Nürburgring 24 Hour debut fitted to a Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo GT3 car. The team finished second in the SP8 class. In 2019, the Giti team finished one-two in its class.
Giti tyres have also been seen in Formula Regional Middle East, Formula 4 South East Asia, the British Truck Racing Championship, the Malaysian Touring Car Championship, Polo Cup Germany, ADAC NLS2 Germany, Lotus Cup China and even the Macau GP.

A brand focused on sustainability
Giti engineers have produced a tyre made with a 93 per cent sustainable material composition. Of that, 40 per cent are recycled materials including recycled plastic bottles – and Giti expects it to enter mass production by 2030.
The tyre contains 53 per cent renewable materials including natural rubber, pine resin, rice husk silica and other plant-based elements. Importantly, it demonstrates that Giti is invested in becoming a capable, responsible and future-focused tyre manufacturer in the long term – going beyond the platitude of doing what is right for the moment.
Giti Tire is a full member of the Global Platform for Sustainable Natural Rubber (GPSNR) and has joined the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) for sustainable growth, looking to encourage others and share their experience.
