Giti Tire Motorsport by WS Racing will debut five BMWs at the 52nd ADAC RAVENOL 24-hour Nürburgring endurance race.
Giti Tire Motorsport by WS Racing will start an unprecedented five BMW cars in the 52nd ADAC RAVENOL 24-hour Nürburgring endurance race.
Now in their sixth season and one of the most high-profile teams in the world-renowned race, the ‘Girls Only - Ready to rock the Green Hell’ team qualified in fine form in their BMW M4 GT4, securing two podium finishes across four races as preparations went well.
Regular drivers Carrie Schreiner, Fabienne Wohlwend, Pippa Mann and Beitske Visser will again lead the team on the track, which as always will be managed and run entirely by women inside and outside the cockpit. Team Manager is Nicole Willems.
In addition, the Giti Tire Motorsport by WS Racing line-up will feature a second BMW M4 GT4 in the powerful SP8T class, while two BMW 330i cars and a BMW 125i will race in the production-based VT2-R+4WD group.
All cars will race on the GitiCompete GTR1 tyres, which form part of a comprehensive range of competition racing patterns which are used in events around the world.
With an ever-increasing focus on sustainability, the manufacturer will use the proven technology findings to create, adapt and further develop to its everyday tyre portfolios, taking learnings ‘from the racetrack to the streets’.
The 52nd ADAC RAVENOL 24-hour Nürburgring endurance race, which runs from May 30th to June 2nd, will also see the manufacturer heavily promote its position as global automotive tyre partner of Sparco®, the world’s leading manufacturer of motorsport safety systems and racing equipment.
Based upon the companies’ shared philosophies of racing, performance, research and development and continuous safety, the ultra-high performance GitiSportS2, carrying the sidewall inscription Giti – Powered by Sparco®, is now available across Europe.
The Giti team will also be hosting a series of large customer events near trackside for esteemed European and international partners, while a big activation area has been set-up to keep families and children entertained across the weekend.
Social media will also continue to play a hugely important role, with the race having a huge following with the crowd in the circuit and motorsport enthusiasts around the world.
Stefan Brohs, Marketing Director - Europe for Giti Tire, said: “Every year we come back to the Nürburgring and raise our game. To race five BMWs is unprecedented, and to continue to support the Girls Only team is a huge privilege.
“Add into the mix our world-leading partnership with Sparco®, the chance to welcome close friends from around the world and a full social media strategy, and we get to share the full excitement of the Nürburgring 24-hour race with as many people as possible.
“Sustainability is also a key message, everything we learn from our motorsport activities is fed back to our European R&D Centre in Hannover, Germany and shared with the other R&D Centres worldwide with the findings taken from the racetrack to the streets.
